  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Use Photoshop CS5 "Content-Aware-Fill" to create Green-Screen Background Plates.

I was in love once...a Sinclair ZX 81, but she wouldn't load....at least not for me anyway.

Times a great healer...unless you got a rash then you're better off with ointment!

Sorry had to...I know Graeme is a fan ;)

My first was actually just the 48K, although I did have a quantum leap.

I don't remember there being a 48k ZX-81. I remember it being 1k, and you could get a 16k RAM pack, which crashed the machine if it wobbled!

I had a 16k ZX Spectrum, and upgraded that to 48k, which seemed very impressive at the time!

So you are one of the very few who bought a QL?

Sorry my TV reference and computer history became intertwined then! I was refering ot the ZX 48K was technically the ZX 82 if I remember correctly. That was then replaced by the 128K +2 and the +3.

My QL I bought from my science teacher for a ridiculous amount of money. But sold it for more later on and used that money to buy an Amiga 500. I remember drooling over the Amiga - look at it now...makes me laugh

RAM-PACK wobble became a household phrase that year!

Funny now we have iPads, about the same shape/size/weight as a ZX81, and even has a touch keyboard that is less tactile too!

Graeme

Hehe... mine was... box full-o-parts. Built it with my dad and it actually worked!
I was only 14 at the time and building from a kit was beyond me. My dad couldn't be arsed to care.

LOL...

Somebody needs to write a ZX81 emulator for the iPad... complete with authentic membrane keybaord graphic for the touch screen.

Except they'd use the "shake" gesture to initiate a RAM-PACK wobble! And there'd be nowhere to put your sticky tape!

Ha ha, I wonder if Casio or Sinclair would actually consider this. A brand new spectrum on the Ipad complete with magazines to compile/build your own games and applications.

Haha, yes, I had the ZX81, and also had the 16K ram pack. The problem was, not only did the ram pack like to fall out, it would overheat as well for me.

First program I wrote on it was a pac-man clone. I ran out of memory before I could complete it :)

A friend had the Timex Sinclair 2068 which he successfully did a donkey kong clone on, it was amazing, he was like an idiot savant. last I heard he is a brain surgeon now. I guess he was tired of programming silicon and wanted to move on to organic processing :)

I jumped from sinclair ZX81 to a timex sinclair 2068! I bought a cartridge to emulate the sinclair zx spectrum! Now i founded www.zxspectrum.net , every game i used to play, now online!!!

Between splinter cell and alan wake, i need some spectrum magic.

ROFL!!!!

Yeah, I am really looking forward to Alan Wake. I'm hoping it can satisfy that place where Silent Hill now fails me.

Although Fatal Frame is pretty good and I still need to finish them on my PS2. :)

Rick, alan wake delivers! It is more a thriller than a silent hill kind of game, but it is good. It has too much story for me

I finished it yesterday between renders (that's the only cool thing about renders, well, and coffe)

Hehe, I just stopped at the local game store during lunch and asked when it would be in, and they said yesterday :) So I grabbed a copy. I know what I'll be doing tonight!
