USB 3.0 or SATA and other consumer connections can't perform as a professional well established medium would perform.
We have build a solution around 4G fiber channel technology using the below IP65 Neutrik connectors that allow robust 4Gbit transfers from 1m to 1km...
Another application that a 4G fiber could deliver is the On Set Storage Area Network... something that none of the above solutions would deliver...
Having a data manager workstation and an editing/color preview connected in 4G high speed link sharing the same media with 380mb/sec...
