Can we expect USB 3.0 support in the next version of REDstations ?

Why not both USB3.0 and Thunderbolt? :-)

Indeed
USB 3
T.B.

How many of you guys who want USB3 are mac vs pc?

I work on PC and USB 3.0 devices are already available.

TB won't come on PC till next year (TB belongs to Intel, not Apple) and I'm not sure TB devices will be as popular as USB 3.0 devices.

Both on REDstations would be perfect. I'll try to find an e-sata laptop for offloading/check/dailies on location R3D footage if I have to use older REDstations.

yes Thuderbolt and USB3 both would be good... in the meantime at least USB3! Thanks

Hasn't anyone tried any of those $20 USB 3.0 to E-sata adapters?

USB3.0 for convenience and speed. It can replace the USB2.0 port already on the Station modules.

SATA is still faster, so....

Thunderbolt would be nice too...

I'm all about options. :)

Personally I share Intel's opinion of USB3.0 (it's crap), but hey, it's out there and people are using it, it's backward compatible, so why not? I have a Mac Pro with a CalDigit 6GU3 card which gives 2x 6G SATA ports and 2x USB3 ports. So, I would probably use the USB3 on either Mac or PC. But would still connect to SATA in most situations. I can use the USB port to power the Station module if I don't want to wrestle the AC adapters or don't have the Station base handy.

Thunderbolt wont be slow for a while and when adapters come out no other ports should be needed
