Hi Everybody,

we have a huge problem with our Red Epic Dragon M, we have to shoot now, but the camera doesn't work.

We turned it on like 3-4 times in 15 minutes, everything was working perfectly, and then it started showing this message and it looks like its not gonna chance.
We tried different things, like changing the alimentation, the lcd cable, the lens, the minimag, and also reinstalling the firmware. Nothing changes, it says: "Initialization Error Please Restart Camera" and we can only press "Shotdown".

Please let me know asap how I can fix the problem shortly and by myself, i have a night shooting, so i neither can find another camera from a service.

Thank you

Andrea,
Tieni schaicciato il bottone di accesnsione per 20 secondi e vedi se si resetta e riaparte, togli tutto e lascia solo lcd e attaccala alla corrente.

Take the minimag off (the hole thing not just the card) and try then. I have heard of issues with the minimag ssd causing this problem.

This just happened to me today. It showed up in the morning once, did the shutdown and it worked. Then later it came up 15 times and had to abandon the shoot. I'm screwed. Have to shoot again on Friday and then go on a 2 week out of country shoot on Sunday. Last time I sent my camera in for repair, red had it for almost a month. I obviously won't be able to send it in. Has anyone tried anything that works? Going to try to reinstall the firmware but I doubt that's going to work. Any help at all would be appreciated.

So I've been messing with this for awhile. I re-installed the firmware, but that did nothing. Then I unmounted everything (side handle, ssd module, adpator module) and booted up. I waited a bit, then powered down. I put everything back together and it booted fine. I then got the agreement for the new firmware and that loaded fine. Last night I powered down and back up about 12 times and every time it worked. Then early this morning I tried again and it went back to the initialization error screen. Tried a bunch after that and nothing. So I thought maybe my side ssd module was fried so I borrowed my friends Scarlet MX and installed his ssd module. It still doesn't work. I tried all of his accessories as well including the side handle and monitor. Still nothing. So it has to be a brain only issue that can't be resolved without sending it in. I'm a bit screwed now. I opened a ticket with RED last night and I've been bugging them all day, but haven't heard a single thing back. This really sucks.

An update on this issue. I sent my camera in and the sensor was the problem so that was replaced.

We're having the same problem. Camera boots up sometimes but mostly gives an 'initialisation error'.

I filed a RMA ticket but I we lost the rental job it was in the middle of.

Can somebody shine a light on what to expect here? 'The sensor was replaced': does that mean the image sensor? Or another sensor? Is this going to be expensive? Take a long time?
