Looking to future proof our Red footage, and was wondering if
Red is developing a Quad Upscaler for 4K Red RAW footage to upcoming 8K standard at 120Hz
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultra_High_Definition_Television
I noted at NAB 2012 that the REDray laser projector is spec'd to project at 4K 120Hz currently and Epic Dragon records 5K at 120Hz,
so I assume the next generation projector would naturally be targeted 8K 120Hz to meet/exceed this standard.
NHK has successfully recorded and demonstrated 8K live broadcast in projection, LCD and Plasma display, and will be broadcasting opening and closing London 2012 Olympic games
in 8K this year (couple months from now).

Panasonic Plasma 8K display (2012)

"Panasonic and NKH teamed-up in order to release a new world first with this
gorgeous 145” 8K PDP (Plasma) TV prototype. Supporting NHK’s Super Hi-Vision
technology, this new TV comes with a impressive 7680×4320 or 8K Resolution and
comes with a new Imagine Engine that unlike other TVs scan pixel vertically to
achieve a perfectly uniformed image quality. No words on when or if this
Prototype will be available for the rest of us, but NHK however is planning to
display this wonder during its yearly Open House event this May (24-27) and at
The SID International Symposium (June 3-8)"

Now that we'll theoretically have several prototype 8K displays to try this on,
i'd love to see how it holds up to upscaling now, and what your best results to date are...
