So long story short, I have a decent opportunity to buy a RED EPIC MX and somebody who is willing to buy my RED ONE MX. As with any buyer spending this type of money it is only natural that I have second thoughts. I figured that I would post here and ask people who own(ed) the Epic MX, is it worth the upgrade? Is there a big difference in color? I love the fact that you can do 200+fps, have a small form factor with the ssds, redvolts, HDRX look awesome and it overall seems like a better camera (obviously)
Some drawbacks that I find with the ONE
. Its heavy!!!!
. Red drives (more weight) cant do redcode 42 at 4k (no 4.5k at all) and no 60 fps at 3k, only 2k. I love my slowmo
. The batteries (any) are terrible and dont last long at all, probably about 15 minutes.
. Its clunky when everything is hooked up
I dont care much for the xlr ports and other outputs.
I do a lot of commercial work for television, company startups, product videos and real estats (hdrx would be killer). I like my slider shots too.
The EPIC that I am buying also has 950 hours on it, so I am not sure if that should be a breaking point for me as well.

Cold feet sucks, but my other thought was to buy a side ssd module and some redmags to make my ONE a little bit lighter and save a couple thousand dollars. Not to mention be able to shoot red code 42 and 120fps. Maybe use that extra money to invest in a RED PRO ZOOM. I would mainly be using the sigma 18-35 (nikon) & rokinon cine ds lenses
What are some thoughts and opions?
