  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Upgraded Firmware To 6.0.37. Now there is a delay in menu selections. Annoying.

So I upgraded the firmware to my scarlet Dragon today. I followed the instructions exactly as stated on the website. Put the folder on the root of the SSD and turned the camera on. I then let it upgrade and then turned the camera off. Waited 10 seconds and then booted back up. Everything is in working order except now when I stop down the aperture instead of it changing instantly it now has a delay. If I stop down the screen and exposure change immediately like normal however the menu at the top has a 1-2 second delay and it now shows "iris close" or "iris open" on the bottom.

So no it shows for example F/2.0 and then when i close it 1/3 stop it changes instantly but the f/2.0 label stays there and turns yellow and then turns to f/2.2. Also when scrolling through the top menu with the side handle everything has a delay and is much slower. This is annoying as hell.

Any thoughts?

Yeah I noticed this too. I however noticed this 2 updates back. The delay wasn't major and I was hoping it would be gone by this update but it's still there.

On a different note, I think the camera starts up faster. At one point it took 30 secs but now it's back to 20 secs. Strange.

RED needs to fix this annoying lag. I mean $25k for a camera and now there is a delay. No bueno.

Point is that it didn't have lag before this update. Firmware updates are for improvements, not to induce quality.

Delays like this don't sound normal. Please file a support ticket and send in a log file so we can take a look.
