updating redmote firmware

I just got the redmote and my epic is already at the latest release build, and I can't find any real clear instructions on how to update the remote since when I attach the redmote to the camera, a dialog box pops up and tells me to remove it since its not compatible before I continue.

There should be a readme file in the set of files you download for the EPIC firmware. You'll need to update the REDmote by hooking up to a computer via USB. Not sure if that answers your question...

not really, but thanks. got the readme and it says refer to the epic firmware instructions but they say how to update the camera only, at least that was all i could find

The EPIC Firmware update should have a folder with the REDmote upgrade folder and installers for Mac and PC. If you're not seeing that make sure you downloaded the latest epic release build.

Only in the EPIC manual.. Not sure why they don't put it in the folder though?

I was looking at 1.6.12 and it's in the REDmote folder, but I see it's not in 1.7.10... Weird!
