Updated Redmag 1.8" Coming Anytime Soon?

[nacamera]

Now that firewire seems to be on the way out, and USB 3 and Thunderbolt are on the way in, is there any talk about an updated Redmag 1.8" reader station that will support these new systems?

Thanks,

[Jack Shanahan]

yeah TB would be great

[Andy White]

The Redmag mini does USB3...

But, maybe time for an update on the main Redmag.

To be clear, you guys are talking about the RED STATION, not REDMAG. REDMAG = SSD. RED STATION = SSD Reader.

Yep Im sure they are talking about the RED STATION REDMAG 1.8".

Im in for the TB but Im happy with the USB 3 option since it wont take up any part of the Thunderbolt daisy chain.

Our field set-up is a rMBP with a Magma/ROCKET and would like to keep the second Thunderbolt port for a 27" Apple display.

That display acts like an awesome media port hub.

Yes, sorry for the poorly worded title. I am speaking of the reader.

Can anyone from Red chime in on this? It seems to obvious a "next step" from Red to not hear some kind of future plans from the source.

Thanks,

Yes, this can be ordered with USB 3.0:

Jarred said a while back that TB is on the back burner until it is better supported and the TB ports are more reasonably priced.
