I just updated to the latest build. Now the REDMAG I used to update doesn't show up in the camera. This hasn't happened to me before. I know I need to reformat it before using it but it won't even mount on my Scarlet. My other Mags work fine. Am I missing something? Can I format it on my computer? It mounts fine on my desktop.

Thanks!

Not sure if this will help....... anyway if you're running on apple..you can reformat the SSD from the computer.

Pathway...........C drive / Applications/ Utilities/ Disk Utility. Open the app with the SSD already loaded, highlight the drive then hit erase.

Hope this helps.

Wasn't sure if there was a RED utility or anything.

But anyway, formatted in disk utility, still nothing. Under media it still reads "none" and when I hit it it says "no media attached" :(

Hitting record forces a shutdown.

Did I brick my REDMAG for this upgrade? Other ones work fine.

Ok I managed to get it to mount and formatted in camera. Now however it seems that I need to reboot anytime I change cards. If I ejects a card and put it or another back in, it doesn't mount without a reboot.

ARRRGH...

Sounds like a bug or a faulty update upload ? Maybe smarter workarounds from smarter members. At least its now working....to a point.

Yes. Try redownloading the update firmware. And try again.

There is a Red utility for formatting from the computer. Installed along with RedCine-X Pro is Red Watchdog, which you can use to mount/unmount media, as well as format.

You can also format from R3D Data Manager.

Can you go back to a previous build?

I ?think? you must format FAT32. If you format on Apple, the default may be an Apple format like HFS, but you can choose FAT32 in one of the options.

I had a similar problem with 3.2.8. After the first time I booted the camera with 3.2.8 installed, the SSD wouldn't mount (my three other SSDs did). I just rebooted the camera and after that it has worked flawlessly, so I didn't bother reporting it.

Please open a support ticket and send in a log file. I've never heard of this problem before.

Shit...more bad news.

Camera is pretty unresponsive. No scopes. Seems to be stuck in RAW mode regardless of look settings. Changing ISO or color temp doesn't do anything. Pressing record forces a crash and shutdown.

Error 0x0000001e
Save Log and Send to RED
Shutdown

=(

I'm gonna save this log file too.

Rolled back to 3.0.7 and all is well for now.

3.2.16 error 0x0000001e,

3.2.16 error 0x0000001e,

Hi Jarek,
Exactly the same with my Scarlet. After upgrading to 3.2.16 error 0x0000001e shows up, can't record anything, no scopes.
Sending log to RED.
Cheers!
Wes

Maybe they will give us Epics for our troubles... :D

Whilst I'm not having error reports like Jarek & others...I'm getting the split white screen. Anyway some observations with this update if you suffer the white screen on start up...........

1) Leave the camera on with the white screen allow 15 sec or so toggle the zoom & false colour button on the handle & if the screen starts changing from white to red you should be right as this seems to signify the system is coming back.

2) Failing that shutdown & restart, sometimes on reboot it comes good.

3) Finally if you on set etc. Pull the lemo from the Touch LCD then re-connect, this seems to work every time. However having said that this scare the s..... out of me as I reckon there is a possibility of a short so strictly a last resort. Maybe someone with more knowledge can advise if this correct.

I like this update a lot , a lot of functionality this camera just keeps getting better. So I'm now wondering if to put up with the screen and the additional boot up time & hail mary's........... or rollback to 3.07.......or the await the update which I'm sure RED is working on.

Which leads me to a small problem with rollback currently my camera as per instructions doesn't recognise the 3.07 update folder as downloaded today from RED.

I have noticed the folder is called "upgrade" not "force update" can I just change the heading of the folder to "force update" for my camera to recognise ?

I wouldn't worry about unplugging the lemo on the monitor, I've done that hundreds of times on the camera to switch from evf to lcd without powering down, works fine, as long as you aren't in playback mode, that will require a restart.
