  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I think they expect a baseless backlash everytime they post new info, probably good to let it sink in and cool off. I was planning on weapon MG unless the Epic W can do scaled 4K raw or prores. Guess it won't matter, going epic w now :)
 
AAARGH I just saw the thread and wanted to know would there be an upgrade path from Raven to Scarlet W if you have your Raven already!
 
Did anybody get a screenshot ? :) Stepped out to get a cuppa coffee and I miss all the good stuff

Pretty sure that you can choose weather you want 2k or 4k in prorez. And that would be from what ever Rez you have the camera set to.. 6,5,4,3,2k in the R3d settings.
Menu>Settings>Recording>Codec and then from the pull down menus choose if you want R3d + Prorez, 2 or 4k, Prorez, 2 or 4K only or a bunch of other choices. Is this not what you mean by scaled?
 
I think Jarred had only one post at the end. (Maybe there were others that I missed.) It is still there. I think he just decided enough was enough. Waiting until October 11th. I read somewhere on the forum just before Stormtroopers went live, Christopher Probst saying that he has always trusted RED, and whatever they offer at the highest level, he buys it, and that plan of attack has never steered him wrong. I think that's pretty good advice, which I plan to follow this time....I had a Stormtrooper in the cart, and then took it out. When I cam to my senses and tried to put it back in, it was too late!!!
 
I don't believe the MG could do 4K prores, unless that was added in a firmware update. Even so, doesn't mean the epic w certainly can...

I have a pre-NAB 2015 Epic Dragon-X, which meant for $14k I got to upgrade plus accessories that would replace the ones I own obsoleted by the new body. After saving for the last year, I really really hope the epic-w upgrade covers me on those accessories for the same amount of $.

same here anton! I'm nervous we will miss out on all of the generous extras that currently come with a carbon upgrade as well as the 5K accessory addition. its almost a better deal to do the move to carbon now, then do the extra 10K (or whatever is decided) to put helium in the carbon brain after 10/11/16.
 
wow, so with this statement, being very clear, no matter what camera you already own, red one, raven, scarlet-mx, etc- you have a deal coming on oct 11th!

Come Oct 11, here EVERY. SINGLE. CAMERA. OWNER. has something at the table for them
