Can we get an update on when Red will be offering Battery Belt clips and the bare vmounts (for mounting to my already owned Quickplate or Red Cradle) that have native 1B connectors? This 2b-to-1b thing is for the birds. I've been holding off on a backup battery plate for a while now because the native 1b connectors were "soon". I know Red already has them in stock because this is for sale http://www.red.com/store/power/product/backpack-quickplate-m but I dont want that, I already own the quickplate with universal mount and just need a raw vmount plate, like the ones Red used to sell for $175 but with 1b connector. Plus the belt one too.

Any tangible update would be super appreciated!!!

yes, I believe they're discontinued - and I've begged prettily for their return to no avail - or at least no one responded to my plea.

I hope you have better luck! would love to see these back in the store. I love using my bricks on my EPIC, the run time rocks...

I thought they said they weren't going to sell them separately anymore?

I thought I read that was just a temporary thing due to not having enough but was told 1B things for battery belt and bare vmount were soon. We need these tomorrow, not weeks or months from now. That 2b-to-1b thing is such an annoyance.

bump

Thank god for third party solutions....while RED has delivered an amazing and revolutionary camera with the EPIC, when it comes to accessories and modules it's a real mess... One can only hope that things will indeed get better by February 2012....but then again February means October 2012 in RED's timeline.... ;-p

I'd even be happy to have just an adaptor connection, without the cable. Just an adaptor at the body that the 2B cable plugs into. I don't need all that extra cable.

The Red BRick Power level data does not transfer over 2B to 1B Lemo adapter cable. Is there a reason/explanation/solution for it, does anyone know?

HI Pasha, where did you hear that the RBrick data/level does not transfer over the 2B-1B cable? We just received ours, don't have a camera to test it on yet, but that would make the expensive cable pretty crippled. Could anyone confirm whether this is the case or not?

Many thanks.

It works on our epic, build 2.0.2

I used it on a rental Epic - I believe the build was 1.6... Had a brand new Battery clip from RED and also my own old Quickplate. The 2B to 1B LEMO cable adapter came with the rental camera... It's possible that it is that one cable adapter that had a problem... I tested the same quickplate with Red One and everything worked. So that rules out the plate. Either the cable or the camera itself....
Can anyone else confirm the same problem or lack of such?

As of build 1.6.44 if I'm not mistaken, up to the latest release and Beta builds, the Operational Notes from Red says : "Camera powered RED BRICK may display voltage instead of battery capacity on some cameras. If voltage is displayed, a future update will enable capacity."

is this what you're talkin about, or were you getting no info at all ?

Cheers,
Damien

Can Red comment on this? Would love official word
