Saw this in another thread:
The data connection is apparently a pretty low priority. The new Red prime and zoom lenses will not have the connection.

Can anyone from RED confirm or deny that the 18-85 and new RED Prime lenses will have /i support?

None of the prototypes shown at NAB had the /i contacts. I hope the final production lenses have this capability.

bump

bump

...And with a mighty bump, he delivers this thread unto the light; where it may be easily viewed once again...

Any confirmation yet on this? One way or the other?

Prototypes are prototypes and really should never be used as a gauge of anything but the broad strokes of a concept.

I'm not a Red insider, but I'd be shocked if they dropped this capability, as it's such an incredibly useful feature.

They will, hopefully Red will start putting the /i pins in the Red One camera bodies soon, so less time will be spent having cameras sent back for retrofitting.

I agree with you guys saying the lenses will have /i support. I always understood that the support would be there. However, I'm just looking for a little reassurance from RED on the matter since Mitch posted that the upcoming lenses won't have /i support. I'm hoping that isn't the case.
