Hello all:
I've been working with the RED One since it's unveiling at The Lot in 2007; this will, however, be the biggest project I've DPed on the RED.
I was wondering if anyone had experience here using the 17-80 Angenieux Optimo T2.2 here, and if anyone has used this lens at night. Being a relatively fast zoom, I'm trying to get by with one great piece of glass so I can allocate funds elsewhere within the Camera / G&E departments.
I know the optimal solution is to get a set of the RED primes or the Cooke S4i's, but I was wondering if anyone had successfully exposed night photography at 5600K with the Optimo T2.2; I have two Maxi's in my arsenal which I'll have at a maximum distance of 50' from talent, direct and bounced off of bleached muslin, but I'm foreseeing the need for 12/18K HMIs.
Any advise or experience with something similar? I'd prefer to expose at 320 or 400ASA.
