Up to date sensor upgrade info M to MX

Jonathan,

We are still doing MX Upgrades. You can email mx-at-red-dot-com.

Best Regards,

Keegan

It is a joke.

The update costs 5750 USD and you can make it only in the US, not in europe.

Come on red...5750 USD seems to be overprice nowadays....

Isn't it ?

That was a short term liquidation pricing guys, not a typical situation. If you want to for the MX, at those prices I would personally move on the DSMC program. Better yet, wait for the NAB news and make a more informed choice over the coming days...

I agree with Valentin, 5750 is more that the price of the BT red one mx, hope we are wrong.. Can you tell us what is the price for an upgrade right now? Thanks for your reply..

BT Red MX doesn't exist anymore. It was one time only and now used Red MX's are going for 10-15k $ on private sale market

It would be nice to know how many non upgraded RED ONEs are out there. Mine couldn't be upgraded at the time and, with that price, it can't be upgraded now. I think it's not out of place, or even disrespectful to ask for a price reduction of the upgrade. The EPIC and Scarlet prices went down, then, why not the RED M to MX upgrade?

These cameras are going to be shooting for a long time. They are still as good today as they were 3 years ago. A nice way to EOL this line of cameras could be offer a nice price for the update to give them more life. I know that in the video world that doesn't work this way. But we are talking Digital Cinema here, guys, and the RED ONE can be the first Digital Camera to still be shooting motion pictures in another 10 or 15 years... That would be nice thing for RED to have won over all the other companies, who doesn't give a damn about any of the products they release.

Just my .02 cents.

I hope they don't bail on the RED ONE crowd, I invested a lot of money on these and love the robust indestructible features and the image these cameras produce. I hope they stick around for a long time despite the Dragon news

The first red one still amaze me by its image quality. It has a real signature. I can use the red ONE M without any bad feeling just after using the red epic for a long time. No prob. The red one M is a masterpiece and it is still one of the best camera on the market today.
