  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

UO and RPP primes...

Just for the shear ART of it.

Just for the shear ART of it.

I just think it would be cool to x-ray a Red One.

So do it Nikolai.

Personally, I would mount it in a frame and have it
hanging on my wall. I mean put up a high res tiff,
so I could go as far as printing it out on a clear plastic
sheet, give it that authentic look.

Hell maybe I would even put a backing light in the frame
that I could turn on and off.

Think it would impress the chicks... click OOHHHHhhh ; - ).

Anyways, it just seems like a cool thing to have hanging up
there as a piece of art.

Sort of... the whole deconstructed, process/construction of the thing.

Maybe I'm just a little bit off, finding these things artistic.

Not at all - its like when people collect architectural blue-prints and frame them on the wall. I would indeed hang an X-Ray of RED ONE (and all other RED cameras coming later) on my wall. I am not sure how many chicks would get impressed by it, but I am sure many of my friends would indeed appreciate it...

Maybe RED should release some limited edition of X-Ray posters of RED ONE signed by Jim...

:) Peter

I remember before RedOne came out, people were saying they were going to take the camera apart and post some video and pictures of it.

Uh.... HELL YES

Uh.... HELL YES

Having the master artist himself signing it...

Pièce de résistance

I love it, love it... Heck, why we're at, lets X-ray Jim Jannard.

Wait... no.. no..no thats weird; forget I said that (got carried away).

Anyways, love the wikipedia description of "Pièce de résistance"

translated into English literally as "piece of resistance", referring to the best part or feature of something (as in a meal), a showpiece, or highlight. It can be thought of as the portion of a creation which defies (i.e. "resists") orthodox or common conventions and practices, thereby making the whole of the creation unique and special. The phrase gives the sense that the referred-to element is the defining essence of the whole, that part that makes it memorable or gives it its unique character.

This is not going to get you laid. Unless you are dating another Red freak.

thanks James

Nice when something that funny communicates in text
I can hear the voice it was meant to be read with.

It's very organic. Its probably an X-Ray looking downward on Jim's eye sockets.

Your right about that Michael  !
I Love seeing cool chicks on set doing work,
because they're a different kind of pretty and i respect them.
Lets get more chicks into Red, besides I'm pretty sure they would like all the bling and attention to detail. Red gear is beautiful design.

Jim is an artist, even when he has other people work for him, he chooses the best and seems to have everyone at the same bpm, synchronized watches and all, the red team is a future army, a force working gloriously with their hand's in the future and their head's in the right place. I still look at my Red One the same way i did when i first took it out of the box, That's love, and when that much attention and hard work go in to something you have to sit back and appreciate everyone from the top to the bottom that brought such a thing to life, from the guy who pioneered it, to those that believed and followed, to foreign made parts, and even the guy who taped my red one packed box shot. It's nice to have nice things, and its even nicer when you appreciate them and all it took for them to exsist.

Life is good
when you value it

Didn't mean to bum your ride, but there's a certain affection for gear that we have that the rest of the world might consider eccentric. I have thirty years of cameras sitting in cases, but I display the Red prominently in my studio, because it IS beautiful (and so cool looking)

Welcome back Jim!
Nice x-rays, shame you had to be forced to do this to clear things up.
To be honest it would be cool to have a t-shirt with an x-ray scan of a RED One.
Same goes for the upcoming scarlet and epic.
Isn't there a danger of messing up any of the hamsters inside he camera if you scan it though?

I had heard that Jim was collecting cameras... but an X-Ray camera??
I wonder what the next staff photograph will look like...
