I'm trying to export a video I shot with the R1 MX. I'm using Premiere CS5.5 with Windows. It keeps saying "Unknown Error Compiling Movie." The video is 37-mins long. Since I can't export the entire video, I've tried exporting just parts of it to find out what clip is giving me the problem. I can't even export 10 seconds without a problem. I'm trying to export a Quicktime None compressed file. Do I need an additional plugin with CS5.5 like some type of importer?

Here's what I've done:

1. Turned off auto save.
2. Plenty of hard drive space (750GB free).
3. Rebooted several hundred times.
4. Closed any virus programs.
5. Closed processes under task manager that aren't necessary.
6. Went through timeline and removed any sizing and PSD files.
7. Inserted Black Video in track one so there is no empty space on the timeline.
8. Deleted temp files.
9. Installed latest updates to Premiere CS5.5.
10. Tried exporting in different formats.

Any help would be appreciated. It's 4am on a Friday night and I need to get this to my client by Monday.

Thanks,

Jeremy

I barely use Premiere to render and I was surprised last time to see how long it would take to render 4K footage into 720P H264...(through Media Encoder).

Was announcing 8 hours.

I just canceled the render and went to AE to first render it as Apple Pro Res 1080P (45 minutes)

Then back into PremierePro to get my 720P H264 (something like 20 minutes? I don't remember)...

So it was not crashing, but I'm saying: rendering from raw on the timeline seems to coast time and probably processing...

Are you using this on a CUDA machine? We have seen some machines where we run into this problem. If you are try running the render without cuda on and let me know.

Thanks

Dave

Also Jeremy,

Just to add on to what Dave is saying here in case you are desperate for time and don't know how to do this, go to:

Project>Project Settings>General
Then change the setting for "Video Rendering and Playback" to "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only".

That will stop it from using your GPU while rendering - this may make your rendering times go up.

It is now working. Thank you very much for your help and quick reply. Once I turned off the GPU and used the software to export, I no longer had the problem. It's taking about 7 hours to export 37 mins of 1920x1080 footage.

That's taken ALOT of pressure off my shoulders. Your help was very much appreciated. I only wish I would have known this about 3 days ago.
