Universal Mount for 15mm "studio" Rods

Sorry guys, I actually addressed this in one of the NAB threads, forgot to come back here.

I am currently undecided if I'll go through and make this mount. While this product doesn't exist as I was imagining, there are other solutions out there.

Element Technica DOES NOT offer 15mm universal mounts at this time. The closest thing they have right now are the 15mm top mounts used for their top-side combo. Theoretically, you could use one of these on 15mm top rods to mount more gear. ET is however working on many other pieces of gear and one of the upcoming pieces is a bridge mount system. It will be more expensive than a simple universal mount as it will clamp onto the rods so you don't have to slide other gear on and off to add or remove the mount. Anyway, it sounded like just the ticket, but it may be a ways off -- ET has a pretty full plate.

Other current options that may fit the bill in place of a 15mm universal mount that I've found...

Ugrip -- they have bridge mounts that fit 19mm and 15mm rods with various spacing, so essentially they already have this product. ( http://www.ugrip.de ) and the rest of their gear is excellent as well. The handheld system and box for mounting the RED Drive or other storage media is all very slick.

Zacuto -- they have a few mounting options. Their doublemount is like a universal mount with more area to mount things to.

Monstercine -- Their clamping system is pretty slick and may fit the bill for what a lot of people may need in terms of mounting things.

EDIT > just wanted to add that I have not actually tried the Ugrip or Zacuto mounts on 15mm rods. So I don't know how the offset alignment will come into play with mounting lens supports or other hardware. I will have more time to re-visit this project in the next week or so and I'll see if it looks like a worthy investment. I guess what I'm thinking is that I'd probably only sell a handful of units and eventually ET will have their bridge mount system available. Which to me sounds like a much better deal even though it will be more expensive. I don't know how much more, just that it would be more. It sounded like a great solution when Stephen was telling me about it at NAB.
