With a payload of 7kg I can mount a Raptor and one or two Komodo on its back, just waiting for a cheese plate back version of this beast...

I assume you are joking , but yeah that would be a great use for one of these , but after all the necessary camera accessories including battery and lens it would probably exceed the 7kg payload. Also stabilizing cameras on a robot like this would be a problem due to its jerky like movements.

But I could see in the future maybe something more oriented towards the filmmaking industry that could do away with the need for human Glidecam/ Steadycam operators or atleast make their jobs much easier. The robots with cameras mounted on them could track specific actors movements through different scenes with preprogrammed motion tracking paths.

Joking, yes, as to the usefulness of this dog for mounting a camera onto its back. Its probably more feasible for carrying my tripod than actual filming, but I too see a future for similar robots for filming, maybe to complement on ground what drones can do in the air. In some of the demo videos the movement on flat ground, and even the one that shows it jumping, might be smooth enough with additional gimbal-like stabilization built into it. Or even make such a robot (with significantly less than its 15 kg weight) a hybrid with propellers so that it can switch between ground and drone shots "on the fly". And if nothing else, it still might find some use in music videos.
