Can some please get some pics and pricing info about the primes at the UniqOptics booth at NAB? Couldn't find anything on their website. Thanksss.

So just read:

"UniqOptics 18,25,35,50,85,100mm all T1.9. All 110mm front dia."
Thanks Matthew!

Any word on price or availability?

edit: not FF35.

haha. mike, if you had finished machining that long range mosquito camera drone for me i would have some right now. i want my deposit back.

anyhow pics are on the way.

WTF is the price on the UniQoptics primes??? I've seen several people say they are priced good, cheap, whatever. So what's the price?

I was told (and given a price list) $26,000 for 5 lenses (25mm - 100, I think). 18mm not finished and will be more expensive.
Very nice lenses. T1.9. The price list does list them individually.
Avail. summer I think. There is a small show discount. Nice guys.

According to the price list they gave me, $24.000 for set of 5. (25, 35, 50, 85, 100mm,) They told me the 18mm will be $5500. They looked and felt very good.

I must say... of all the new Primes I saw today these lenses impressed me the most... I had the opportunity to look at all of them(25-100) on the new Zeiss Directors Finder as well as a Red body and was very happy with what I saw!

The lenses that were on display were "prototypes" although they didn't feel that way!! The mechanics were absolutely solid (unlike some of the other lenses I saw)

Here is the Price list I got from them...

25mm - $5500
35mm - $5500
50mm - $5000
85mm - $5000
100mm - $5000
----------
Total $26000
set discount - $2000
--------
set of five $24000

They were selling what sounded like 8 sets(not sure) of the "prototypes" for $20,000 with the option to trade in and pay $4K to get the actual production models when available in late summer...

The focusable Diascope was also very impressive

Anyone else thing it's a quinkydink that they are roughly the same form factor (18, 25,35 in a large shell, 50,85,100 in a smaller shell) as the REDPrimes, and they are roughly the same price point. Both based on southern california. Also their 18mm is still in development stage.

{puts on tinfoil hat}

Conspiracy theory: UniqOptics did the design for Red based on shared expertise and Red's specs, then is offered a small part of the market to sell their own branded lens set, but get to benefit from the lower costs due to the quantity Red was producing. Win/win

That's half a MM on the iris blades, or a different choice in coating tech, or a different shroud on the rear. Hell drop hard matts on a mattebox with a lens over 150 and the t-stop will change by almost a 1/2 stop.

I'm guessing it's the coating. One thing Red really does have legacy experience in is coating. My guess would be they would share barrel structure (exterior shroud is different), and element design but not coatings.
