Yesterday was a beautiful day, with plenty of sunshine, especially when I saw the RED boxes from the courier. I opened them, and when I laid my hands on the Epic Brain, all the waiting months preparing for this moment faded away like nothing. I was felt like I have the camera for years, don't know why.

However, is a simple package, as you can see from the pic's. I will prepare a shooting day (actually on the night), because I'm not quite happy with the night time capabilities.

Thank you RED for a fast delivery, your support, and I'll be back soon for some small things (some Rig stuff)

A god day to you all, (I know I'll have many of them)
Florin

I didn't get a sticker when I got my EPIC :(

Congrats and wellcome to Reduser, Florin.
What is your serial number?

Thank you Laco.

The serial is 05848. I update the title with the serial after the original post, but it is visible only when you enter the thread. Maybe somebody can update the original title.

And the code name :) (maybe not the best one) is “MAYA”, after my little girl. :)

Congratulations Florin!

good to see someone else with a nikon mount. we are a minority here. Let me know your thoughts.

:) Yeah... bought the Nikon mount because all my lens comes from my Nikon D800, and have lots of,... 14-24, 24-70, 70-200, 20, 50.... BUT....because some friends have good Canon lens, I bought also a Canon mount...just in case :)

I'm preparing a short movie (low light kind of) in the next days....

Keep in touch,
Florin

Congrats on the purchase - looks like a nice set! Mounts are really easy to switch on DSMC now (compared to the RED ONE, at least time and screw-wise) - so it's always a good idea to have more then 1 mount (just in case...). The basic aluminum versions are affordable and totally enough for still lenses and to get started.

The set looks good as mentioned, I'd just add a top-plate for additional mounting points and if needed a base plate with either lightweight 15mm support or - if you're going more into the studio direction - with 19mm support.

I don't see it on the pics; did you also buy the XLR-cables? Highly recommended and cheap -> http://www.red.com/store/products/xlr-microphone-cable-20 ... And for easier handheld-action with longer runtimes then sidehandle only; the battery belt is pretty useable and also not really expensive (plus a good backup in case there are troubles with the v-mount plate) -> http://www.red.com/store/products/battery-belt-clip-dsmc
