Hi all,
I transcoded my footage with RCX in MXF (DnxHD36), importing in Avid MC6 via AAF...
I did the edit with this rushes, and now I want to relink the project with my native R3D, using the AMA...

But unable to relink anything...

The AMA have the _001 extension on their name... Could that be the problem ?

Do you have how to do it of the procedure to follow...

All the best

Michael

Although Media Composer v6 brought the ability to relink between TAPE source (as created in RXC) and SOURCE FILE (when using AMA), it only works with an exact string match and the _001 is preventing that from happening. There is no way to edit the SOURCE FILE name. So this feature is still not working for spanned files with R3D due to this mismatch. Avid has been made aware of this issue - awaiting information as to when this will be addressed. For now, you can generate an EDL, import and relink in RXC, add handles, and generate new online media via a transcode that will relink.

since DaVinci Lite is a free program. you might use it for the relink. It does support AAF, so it might be easier than with EDL.

You can use DaVinci as well, but for regenerating dailies, EDL into REDCINE X PRO is quick and the conform in Avid is flawless this way regardless the number of layers, nests, plug-ins, etc.
