How are you dealing with the random un-mountable 960gb minimags?

Red support say they know its still a live bug even after the most recent firmware release. Support suggested leaving the mag in the camera for a couple minutes after pressing OK to dismiss the mount error message. Support says camera is still trying to mount the mag in the background so its best you leave it in after the error. I do wait, but the mag decides to mounts in its own good time. 2 minutes. 5 minutes. 30 seconds. Sometimes only after a reboot. Sometimes they dont mount at all. Its random.

I know some are going to say this never happens to them...in which case I fear the fault may lay in the mini-mags, which explains why the fixes red released haven`t cured it yet.

For the guys that do have the problem have you figured out an optimum process to increase the chance of mounting...stand on one leg facing south? Or??? I have one smaller capacity black mag that I keep handy for the times the 960gb mags fail to mount at all. I`m considering buying some black mags. But that just seems ridiculous.

I know 2 productions with the same issue. I can see Reds well built reputation getting tarnished when loading media costs production time.

I don't have any cure or workaround just want to share my experience, I also have the same issue with my only one 120GB MiniMag. The camera refused to mount occasionally after I offload the data onto my MacBook Pro. It may have caused by the way my computer ejects the MiniMag, or maybe due to some hidden filesystem written by the Mac that confuses the camera system, we don't know.. One thing for sure, the card is still writable even when RED Watchdog is set to 'Read Only'.

I`m pretty sure support told me it was the 960GB mags only that had the mount issue so that`s a worry. Perhaps its just good luck but my older black mag hasn`t had the mount problem whereas both my red colored 960gbs fail every shoot. I sent RED an email over the weekend asking if I buy the lower capacity mags would they definitely mount OK - should get reply soon.
