Hi all,

About to take delivery of my Scarlet but the side handle is still backordered. Subsequently my order of several redvolts is now useless for powering the camera and so it's currently mains power or nothing. With no idea when the Side Handle will ship I need to get a v-mount solution sorted pretty quickly and inexpensively. However, it appears the lemo adapter cable is backordered with Red so I can't just get a Red one v-mount plate, and most items from the US are going to be pretty expensive by the time shipping/import duty/VAT is applied.

Any suggestions for a UK-based Red Scarlet V-Mount power solution would be greatly appreciated :)

I would also love to know! Have side handle now, but redvolts are pretty useless. Need v-lock plate badly! Viewfactor was supposed to have new stock by the end of Feb, but still no news. Wooden Cam on back order too.... You could try the red belt vlock clip ben, as that is in stock in the red store and not super expensive... wish we had just got one as have spent as much on cross hiring ET vlock plate...

Cheers Mike. I didn't think about the Belt clip. I asked the bomb squad rep to make a recommendation too so hopefully he'll get back to me with either a cunning plan or dates for the side handle.

They aren't in the UK, but you can buy it now from MG1 Concepts. I know they are in stock, I ordered one yesterday for their Scarlet V-mount Pro. I think they are the only company with those Lemo connectors.

I ordered the same one yesterday Harry, couldnt give me shipping dates yet. But our item invoice # is 020 so hopefully its gonna ship in the 1st batch...

Sadly that plate from wooden camera is backordered Jon otherwise it would have been the answer to all my problems.

No idea why

a) I can't get it over here.
b) there isn't a UK firm making something similar.

FYI - all sode handles are currently planned to be out of backorder by mid-april.

I am hoping that I can shoot with main power till then, or maybe a big enough job will come along to justify the other battery mount and batteries...

Hi Ben,

I just hired a six pack of IDX v-locks from Onsight (they are based in Shepperton and Berners Street in Soho). Foreseeing delays of the side-handle I also bought a v-lock belt clip and a 2B to 1B cable from RED which I used. However, you may be able to hire something like this from them as well. Onsight: 020 7637 0888.

Brilliant. Thanks Antonio. Will add the belt clip to the order i think.

Usually, this sort of thing RED turns around pretty sharpish as usually they are not on backorder.

Good luck,

Antonio

Hello Ben (and others with a similar concern),

I'm not sure if you are familiar with the ActionProducts solutions, but if ordered through our European site, products ship through AP in Europe. The "Nereus" + Battery Module package would be well suited for your needs. We also have more advanced power packages containing the "Electra," "Proteus," and the Battery Module for those needing to power another camera or a number of accessories.

There's also some rig pictures in our thread. If there are any questions, please let me know!

Ive got an order in with Ryan at Wooden Camera for another back plate he's expecting to be out of back order pretty soon.

Two other possible interim solutions would be:

a) Buying a used RED battery plate (there are a few on sale now that R1s are being sent back to RED) and an adapter from RED. Lets you use V-lock batteries. Also, have a look at eBay, I've seen battery plates sold there as well.

b) Buying one of the plenty quad Battery modules that are currently for sale by redusers. That way you could use your RED volts now and in the future have two battery power options, depending on your project.
