With the 7.1 beta, we saw the UDF format, to finally be able to get massive chunks of Prores.

I'm curious if there are any disadvantages to using UDF to record Redraw?

None that I've seen, been using UDF as long as it's been offered. Only thing is some MacOS versions take a bit to mount and eject the mag, but that's more a nuisance than a problem. Probably formatted/rolled hundreds of times without any issues. For what it's worth, I always Secure Format (did the same with Fat32).

I have been using UDF for quite a while without a single issue. One possible downside is I don’t know if RedUndead will work on UDF drives? Luckily I’ve not had a reason to find the answer.
