Typos that drive me nuts

What about Bushisms that somehow directly or indirectly were influenced our lives for almost 8 years?

"Bushisms are unconventional words, phrases, pronunciations, malapropisms, and semantic or linguistic errors that have occurred in and defined the public speaking of

former President of the United States George W. Bush and, much less notably, of his father, George H. W. Bush."

It's not so much about use of any grammatically correct language or grammatically incorrect language,

it's more about meaning of language (that can be told in grammatically correct or incorrect way) and power and intention that stand behind it.

I'm more concerned about an ideology that stands behind certain use of any language (grammatically correct or incorrect) than about that language itself.

Do NOT read anything written by Ketch! :-)

I find that Ketch's posts are clear, in spite of the fact that his English is not the best. He's easy to understand because his expression is straight, succinct...
Sanjin, on the other hand...

...and people whose first language is not English are forgiven in my book.

Sanjin is error. :-)

LOL +1

When I was a child, I spoke like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things. Like LOL, ROTFLMAO, RTFM, WTF, IMO, IMHO, BTW, AFAIK, etc ... But not RAW. RAW can stay. I don't even know what it stands for.

I'm a child-like man who is being childish for effect. (I am in this thread anyway.) I accept internet conventions like LOL. Am I error?

If, on the other hand, you are calling me a child, try AH on. Can you decipher what that means? If I am error, please disregard.

It's a series of tubes. Haven't you heard?
But if the tubes are all connected, it would only be one net. Is that not so?

On another note, misspelling "the" as "teh" seems to show a lack of proofreading.

Actually my rejection of internet conventions is pretty childish. I'm stuck in the '70s. Or at least somewhere pre-personal computing. AH?

Haha. But at least people like him can use more than one language.

I need to get serious about learning a couple more languages besides just English.

Well in my defense..

I Read write and speak "5" languages on a daily basis, I have been Resuscitated by use of High Voltage Defillibration, "4" times and my Brain, seems to not want to process few words in the right form and or syntax, which drives me nuts, but I don't complain much as I can still bread amongst the leaving and this little things mean very little to me, thanks for your support and understanding and my Apologies for the errors and or misplacement of proper wording.

Words I always seem to F$%#@!$UP..

"Form" instead of "From" this one drives me really nuts!, but no matter what, I always find my self correcting my posts about this one ;~ but there are many others, he he so please deal with it, fortunately my Book and Scripts will pass thru Professional Editors ;~)

Ketch,

No worries. I think most of the comments here are directed at those whose first language, or ONLY language, is English. They should know better, or is that no better?

And one more point. If I were you, I'd lay off the defibrillation. It's not good for your heart or brain to keep doing it so much. Try golf.

Keep in mind that for many posters here, English is not their first language.

That does seem to add to the problem sometimes. I'm convinced that most people from Eastern Europe are actually being taught to use "u" instead of "you" and "ur" instead of "your". Yes, I hate those abbreviations. Few things scream, "I'm a complete dumb ass that texts way too much!" more than doing that.

And Jeff is correct.. Jeff most certainly does have an issue with the misuse of apostrophes'

The mis-use of "they're", "their" and "there" is always high on the list.

And while we're at it, it's "surprise" damn it! Not "suprise".

It also seems that most people don't know if it's possible to enjoy their dessert while walking through the desert or rather they should enjoy the desert while walking through a dessert.

And there's only one "r" in "forest", idiots.

This thread is too stupid. But I suppose some people might think it's to stupid.

Someone just sent me an email using "peaked" for piqued. It seems unfair to hold people responsible for these errors when we live in a society that thrives on abbreviations, simple-minded rhetoric, and quick-cut experiences. Or not.

I think the best way to learn how to spell is by reading. But who has time for that?
