  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Two local commercials :) on Scarlet

That is the problem I'm having , I can't match the color grade , fcp

Edit in Final Cut. Then export an XML into RCX for color grading the RED footage. Do a nice one light. Export it back to FCP as a Pro Res 4444 XML. Color grade all of the footage in FCP to match it up. Depending on which version, if you have Final Cut Studio than send it into Color. If you have FCPX than use the color boards.

I'm using FCP7 waiting when the X becomes r3d native.

It seems like a lot of going back and forth, these commercials are low budget, so I'm looking for one way street quick turn around,
Export files out of rcx that works great:)
however when I try to match my 5D footage is the Problem. Red matches but 5D mark III is the problem

Honestly, if you are a small shop shooting RED you really should consider Adobe CS6. It was scary but we made the switch and can't be happier. If you want quick and painless and no rendering then you want CS6.

Agreed. I'm using CS6 for everything RED (which is almost all projects now), at least until FCPX gets it's updates for Native REDCODE etc. If Apple gets it fight FCP will be unstoppable IMO.
