These are kind of prototypes that I had made as part of a plan to start selling these. The plan is a bit on hold (I might pick it up again some time) but I have two of them now available. This is actually the third generation with many improvements over the previous two.
Some features:
- fully adjustable with three clutches, they won't unscrew when moving them around
- swing-away design (pic 2): if needed you can swing it to the side, handy for in tight spaces (normally it is locked with a pin)
- suitable for tripod and hand-held work, just swing it to the front (pic 3)
- can be close enough to the camera for your right eye
- can quickly be taken apart without tools for storage
- made of aluminum and stainless steel (just the washers are plastic)
- really nice hard coated
- price 390 USD
On the camera it will connect with two screws to the top mount so you need to have that on your camera. On the EVF side it will replace the metal piece that is attached to the EVF, you can use the same screws. In the new piece there is a 1/4" stainless steel screw whole so you can still use the RED arm if needed.
I have been using it myself on several productions without problems. The guy who machined them did a really good job and it is not going to break. As said I have two available right now, if there is more interest I need to see if I can have more made and how long it is going to take.
