Has anybody heard of this brand, know of any reviews ? They have LCD and CRT monitors. They seem to be extremely cost effective, just don't know if it's a credible product. Grading 2K footage from the RED, still not sure about the monitoring ...... any suggestions for a limited budget ? What do you think of the Blackmagic-Design HDLink Pro with a 23" Mac monitor.

I dont know the large TV Logic unit, but we use the 9" Verison on the Arri D21 and it´s a fantastic monitor. If they offer the same quality in there bigger units, they will have a very good price/performance ratio.
For Grading i wouldn´t use a 23" Apple Display, this is far off what you will see on a CRT Monitor, and there are better LCD Solutions arround than the Cinema Displays. Look for example for Eizo or Quarto Monitors, still not like CRT but a lot better then Cinema Display.

happy grading

TVLogic makes CRTs?! I think they only make LCDs. (Maybe you have them confused with Ikegami???)

Go here:

and scroll down the bottom and check out the links. There was a shootout hosted by the Editor's Lounge which compares different monitors.

2- The HDLink doesn't de-interlace. If you are making your own deliverables (broadcasters want 60i masters even if your project is 24p) I don't think that will fly.
If you want to go the cheap route, and only deal with 24PsF/24P, then it may be ok. Some apple cinema displays have a subtle manufacturing defect (the magenta/purple cast issue). I'm not sure about how the ACD handles 24p motion but it looked ok to me.
You get what you pay for... but it could be appropriate for some budgets/needs.

With any of the LCDs (except the DPX), you'll want to light the surround to (kind of) hide the raised black level.

The JVC 24" DT looks to me to be the most promising for a cost-effective professional monitoring solution.

TV Logic do have a CRT Broadcast monitor, it's the DBM-150HD it's a multiformat (HD/SD) 15 inch broadcast monitor. I assume it will display a 16:9 image when a 2k/hd signal is sent through it. is this good enough for color correcting and grading ?
