  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Turn for Epic is 2000?! Is it for 1-2 years to produce?

Tell me please,
I was heard there is turn for Epic is about 2000 people? So how much must be annual production of Epic to provide this first demand. I have not RED ONE and want to buy Epico on STAGE 4 but if turn is 2000 people..and annual production is about 1000 -2000 units so even after release Epic I will not bee able to buy Epic untill this 2000 will be produced and sold so I need to wait about 1-2 years even after Epic will be released? In this case I think I don't need to wait Epic anyway because even after release I will not be able to buy it for 1-2 years? Is it coorrect?

People have been waiting for their payed RED ONE from 3 to 6 month so I think RED worked on the maximum

Actually, first RED Ones shipped out August of 2007 -- first 50 cameras. First 100 cameras by the end of '07. Most cameras delivered in 2008 thru 2009, so it has really been under 3 years that RED has really been shipping cameras and the bulk of them didn't start shipping right away.

Epic will ramp up and deliver faster. How fast remains to be seen. Given that RED should not be as dependent on suppliers this time around and they are making the cameras here in the USA, that should help a lot.
 
If I recall RED shipped serial numbers from approximately 2000-7000 in the last few months of 2008 as they were able to ramp up production. So 1000+ per month?

Based on statements made by RED team members the Epic and following Scarlet roll-out will be much faster than the RED One, with high production output numbers as soon as it's released.
