  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Trying to figure out this spanning thing...

Hey everyone! I recently had someone rent my Epic-W and shoot only ProRes, and they are wondering about recommendations for spanning the ProRes clips. I haven't done it before; so I told them I would do some research. From what I understand, Premiere Pro still doesn't span them on import, and the only other software I could find is FoolClip. I've tried FoolClip before and couldn't get it to work for some reason, but is that what everyone else is using?

The client is editing on Mac OS X so Phil's tool won't work.

Thanks for the help!!

I'm honestly not sure, but the newer builds now support UDF file format which allows you to record ProRes files larger than 4GB.

Doesn't solve your problem now... but it will for future use. :)

I believe Gunleik Groven' s software can achieve this. Currently free. Haven't tried it though.

Convergent Design also has a program that can solve this problem. I think it's called "Edit Ready".
