SO.. I set the Ki pro to "Epic" camera date menu.. and while it will display the file name over sdi from the epic... it will not go into record when hooked up to an epic..
has worked well with other non red cameras..

What settings and port has worked (prefer people who actually have used it to reply)?

Looking for camera settings as well

KI pro is using firmware 3.0.. set for prores 4:2:2 HQ..

PM's welcomed..
thanks

I believe you have to set the record trigger. It took me about 5 mins to set up and haven't had to do anything else since. Have you done that or did you just set it to epic nd call it a day?

Nick

Did not know which record trigger menu/setting to use..
manufacturer said not to use 4.0 on Red.. said to stick with 3.0 for that..
Will find out Epic Firmware..
which port and settings do I need to use on the epic?
thanks

Not shopping for a pix (I know that product, and like it).. looking for menu and settings help on the devices other people have made work, and which I have on hand.
thanks

I have found the Ki pro to be excellent. Extremely reliable, simple, and a much cleaner form factor than the pix.

I am not at the office where the camera and ki pro are, but what I did was I just loaded the latest firmware onto the ki pro (about a month ago), then selected epic, then went through every menu (there aren't that many, and just set them. I think the record trigger option is timecode start stop. It was that simple. If you aren't running the most recent release builds of both red and ki pro, i would start by updating both.

What do you mean which port? I assume you are just running hdsdi into the kipro.

Nick

Thanks guys.. will try with fresh firmware loads next week, and see how it goes..
It's a friend's Epic... and I was using hdsdi out from it to the sdi in on kipro mini
