Thank you Steve. I will order the Arrow 55 with Sprinter II CF legs. I wonder if I can use it when I upgrade to epic later on since the RED ONE fully rigged is so much heavier than the Epic ....

Sure you can use it with Epic. Its true that a fully rigged Red One is heavier than a fully rigged Epic, but the payload range of the Miller Arrow 55 head is 22 to 55 pounds. All but the lightest Epic setups will be at least 22 pounds. Then if you want to load up the accessories on the Epic you have a lot of upper payload range.

If by chance you decide not to go for the Arrow 55, then the Compass 25 payload is 8 to 32 pounds, which is perfect for a Red One using Nikon zooms or primes (or cine primes), and then also for an Epic using Canon zooms or primes, Nikon zooms or primes, or cine primes.

I think you'll be way happy with either one...

Oconnor 50D all the way!!! I have two of them and couldn't be happier about it!

I'm actually thinking about selling my backup 50D head if anyone is interested as I'd like it to get some use!
