I'm probably going to get a Dana Dolly. Now I'm wondering what tripods everyone are using for it?
I'm looking at getting something like 2 of these:
Avenger Steel tripods.

They are a bit heavy tough at 4.5kg. I also saw that some others use tripods with wheels which seems practical. But then they need breaks right?

Any thoughts would be appreciated :)

Check out the American Grip RS00DD stands. Made just for the Dana Dolly. Shorter than most, T top for better fit and stability, along with w rocky mountain legs. May be ordered with wheels.

I have the Low Boy roller stands and it works great but i do agree that there are times when it would be nice to be lower. But a couple apple boxes work for those situations.

From the Dana Dolly website:

Stands: Norm's Studio Equipment has agreed to sell their SO25 Lowboy Combo Stand to Dana Dolly customers for a special price of $162 each. Mention the Dana Dolly Discount. 818-767-6676 Shawn
Lowboy Combo Stand Specs: Weight 12lbs Height Folded: 36" Height Extended 5'8" Part#SO25

American Studio Equipment now makes a special low boy combo type stand for the Dana Dolly. The Dana Dolly stand has a "T" top welded to accept the track ends, is about 8" shorter than a low boy combo, and has two leveling legs instead of one, which will allow it to level better on mountains or rocky terrain. These improvements are from customer feedback, and it is a great stand. Contact American Grip Equipment - 818-768-8922 or email sales@americangrip.com

I have the norms... don't find them to be low enough. If you want some cheap used...

We use low boy Combi stands but also theres nothing to stop you running on plastic pipe at floor level.

The other trick is to under sling the head so it hangs down from the track to the camera skims the floor. If you have a top plate fitted to Epic its very quick and easy to do.

Mostly we use 1 1/2 or UK 38mm Aluminium tube.

Jason, American does not have these listed on their website. Give Phil a call at the number on the website. He can help you. The stands are $185 and the wheel sets are $92.50.
