I will be shooting away from home for a few days and the only tripod available at the location will be a Miller DS 20. If I strip down the Epic to bare bones (though it will have a V lock battery) is that combination going to work?

Hey Rob,

I think it will work fine. Do you expect there to be many situations where counter balance is needed? If it's mostly locked off with some basic pan and tilt I'm confident you'll have no problems.

What do you use at home?

Hi Jim,

Many thanks for that. I am going to be shooting in Tasmania and am struggling to find somewhere to rent a 100mm tripod. Do you happen to know anywhere in Hobart that would rent out 100 mm tripods? I have never used such a lightweight tripod as the DS 20 with the Epic. I wont be doing a lot of fancy moves with it luckily. At home I am on a Miller 25 which I really liken a lot. I sold my OConnor because it was just too heavy.
