Anyone from the states have any issues traveling with their red camera to Ireland? I have a small corporate shoot in two wondering if I should expect can't hold ups I plan on carryon my cam and batteries. First time abroad with a camera and don't want to get tied up.

I'm traveling to Denmark tomorrow and have been to Europe back and forth many times with equipment.
If you don't have a carnet, make sure you register your gear with customs before you leave. There's a particular form CBP 4455 that you need to fill out and take to the customs office, along with your gear for inspection.

Battery wise, I take 4 small 95w/h with me just to be able to power up the camera in a pinch and power my wireless monitors. For the camera I rent locally. If you use Anton Bauer mount, make sure to have a V mount plate adapter, as Gold Mount for some strange reason, is fairly rare in Europe.
Make sure that the batteries are in your carry on and the terminals are taped. In Europe they are a lot more stringent than in the US.

Good luck and safe travels

I'm getting ready to travel to the Cayman Islands.
Doing the carnet form, anything else i should do?

Get a good local fixer. Anything can happen in the caribbean...
Once all my gear got confiscated in Nicaragua. We were just arriving from Costa Rica and our fixer was from CR too. So he wasn't local. I think that made all the difference...
We left less than 24 hours later and got the gear back, but didn't get to complete the job...

so I just received my carnet to cover my weapon brain, my lens kit and mattbox and filters. I figured I could rent a couple extra batteries wherever I go. Off to customs to get it stamped!!!!!! The crazy part is my kit fits in my backpack with ease i just didn't want to take chances with the horror stories I hearing! Process was pretty easy and only 400 bucks good for a year.
