Here's a recent shot of Bay on the set of Transformers. I'm pretty sure there's a Dragon under there somewhere...

Epics upsidedown?
they shooting 3D?

He said he was going to be using the IMAX 3D (Dual Phantom 65) setup on T4.

Like on previous T-movie they used multiple cameras. 35mm for some scenes, faces, mostly closeups and various digital in 3D rigs where appropriate. Looks like on T4 they use Digital IMAX / Phantom, film cameras and Epic Dragon. Must be a lot of fun in post matching all that ;)

I'm thinking he probably switched to EPIC 3D because he had issues with the IMAX 3D setup as it's still in Beta stages when last I checked or maybe he didn't even get to use the IMAX 3D rig. I don't think there's but two or three of them at this point.

In that particular shot they are Epics on a TS5 3ality rig (dolly in foreground and steadicam in background). We have 3 TS5 rigs with Epics for 3D, Epics and Dragons for 2D work, Digital IMAX 3D, film, Canon, GoPro and shoot all of them regularly. Epic and Dragon are the main formats, with the other cameras / formats supplementing for sequences requiring multiple cameras. Company 3 is doing the dailies and color work and are doing a great job at keeping up with all the different formats and how crazy it all is. Pretty awesome stuff!

Dude can you say....explosions!!!!
