Transformers 4 Trailer @ Super Bowl Epic MX + Dragon

[Jarred Land]

Michael Bay was one of the first to take delivery of Dragons and he put them straight into fire with a ton of hard work by Steve Freebairn and Zach Hilton... this was a camera geeks dream job ( or worst nightmare depending how you look at it with pretty much every camera out there smashed together by Amir to create some pretty breathtaking images. This trailer has a nice mix of them all... Epic MXs, Epic Dragons, and a whole lot of Robots.

Great stuff! Congratulations.

[Martin Stevens]

Thanks Jared. Great imagery!

[Steve Freebairn]

You won't believe how good Amir Mokri (DP) and Co3 made everything look.

Awesome

[Paul Harb]

nice

[Zach Hilton]

It was pretty awesome the amount of cameras that were used (and some destroyed). Gonna be great!

[Marc Wielage]

Haven't I seen this movie before?

[Mark Toia]

Did Shia labeouf get axed ? I cried for two weeks when I found out Megan fox got taken out.

[Nick Pasquariello]

All of my dream jobs are also my worst nightmare. I can't imagine any camera geek not feeling the same way.

[Ketch Rossi]

Ha ha unreal!!

Oh wait... Was that a MegaDRAGON?!?

Cool... Very cool, can't wait to see what the team has done...

[luigivaltulini]

COOOOLLLLL

[Tom Lowe]

Jarred, do you know of any of these big FX films that are finishing at 4K, with 4K VFX?

[Hrvoje Simic]

Hopefully the incoherent data-overload cutting trend will pass soon.

[charles lim yi yong]

Another 80% cgi red epic film.

[Zach Hilton]

Another 80% cgi red epic film.

Actually, the production team went to great lengths to capture and acquire as much as possible practically. Obviously Robots, and spaceships are CGI, but you'd be surprised at how much isn't. It was quite impressive to be apart of.

If they are going with the original cartoon series or even the Transformers Prime series, I believe the two-headed dragon would be one of the Terrorcons named Hun-gurrr, which was actually the last Transformers toy I owned when I was a child. I am a huge Transformers fan, so I am excited to see that the Dinobots, and possibly the Terrorcons, are going to be included in this one. I really enjoyed the first film, the second had some great action sequences, but could have easily been improved by cutting about 20-30 minutes and a few of the annoying characters from the film, and the third was also enjoyable, but also could have cut a few of the obnoxious characters as well. Happy to see that this one is being shot on Red.

I've heard Bay was a firm believer that closeups of actors faces must still be captured on film, but that was on previous TF movies. I wonder if that practice changed in the new one.
