  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I think/guess that quite a few TV productions still will be shot at 4k HD on the Epic, still taking advantage of the extended DR and lower compression. I might be wrong about this, but still I may not...

4kHD will still be realtime on the Rocket from Epic, right?

Will adding a second Rocket give realtime on 5k Epic material?

We don't know exact specs yet But Deanan and Jim have confirmed RED ROCKET is being tuned for 5K. He also mentioned screaming offload times of 4K HD (as it nests perfectly in 5K) to be 3x RT offload speeds!

Those rates are for offloading mags from REDstations.

Rocket support for Epic is working now and being tuned
to get the best speeds. We'll report what those are when
the tuning done.
