"Works in Progress" was shot using the first two RED cameras in Kansas and western Missouri during the summers of 2008 and 2009. The film is coming out this fall on Vanguard Cinema's label (http://www.vanguardcinema.com). We just today finished the trailer, which was the very last thing we had to do.

We know the audio quality is a little weak in places, but we did not have access to our sweetened audio tracks or even alternate takes when we put the trailer together (the sweetened audio exists only on the final mix).
We had never before been involved in any aspect of filmmaking (or even photography) before deciding to make "Works in Progress." We just jumped straight in with both feet and two REDs.
In addition, none of our lead cast and only one member of our crew (which consisted of only 11 people, in total, counting my wife and me!) had ever been involved in the making of a motion picture before. Even our editor was a first-timer!
We shot the film over a total of five months, all of which was worked full-time six-days a week. (Yes, we are very, very slow.) My wife and I provided the vast majority of the funding (about $200,000, not counting equipment purchases).
We are currently about 95% shot on our second feature film, "Terminal," which will be released upon the world by the summer of 2012. We are currently writing the script of our third feature. And, given that I'm getting old and arthritic, that just might be all that we'll be doing!
Finally, I would like to express my sincerest thanks to all of you here on REDUser for helping us to make this film. We know literally nothing (except how to write—that we're quite good at!), and if it had not been for all of you constantly answering my "stupid questions," we really would not have been able to do it.
The folks at RED were also very helpful during the critical early stages of the process.
