We shot on Cooke S4i's. I'd only ever really used my Rokinon set until then, and there was quite a difference haha.

I'm thinking of buying SIGMA CINES now to shoot the next one.

Looks great and very scary! Congrats!

Not being critical of your movie or the DP's work at all, but just curious about the technical side: I find the first scene to be a nicer looking image (to my taste) than most of the other INT shots in the trailer and i'm wondering if maybe that's just actual daylight being rendered better by the sensor or what it might be. Curious if you have had any thoughts or convos with your DP about this topic--maybe not necessarily looking at this shot in particular, but just liking how some scenes came out more than others and realizing it was because of this or that.

thanks

Awesome trailer. Nice colors and lighting.

Would you mind sharing a few details on the process. How long was pre-production? Shooting? What size crew? Budget advice?

Are you talking about the birth scene? Not sure how to answer that to be honest... This trailer they cut doesn't really highlight the films strengths visually. The daytime stuff we had M40's blasting in the windows and they did a great job simulating sun.

Hey Tom,

Pre-Pro was a month which has been pretty standard with the films I've been involved with. We wrote it pretty quickly, roughly 2 months before we had a shootable draft (but, as always, we were editing it up and into production). Production was 20 days (4 weeks, 5 days per). Crew size was pretty large. Even on such a low budget, we had all the departments filled out - probably more than we needed in some cases. Since 15 of the 20 days were in one location, it was definitely cramped at times. Very young crew (the First AC was 19, but he was very solid and had a great attitude, wouldn't hesitate to use him again) with most people stepping up a level.

I recently watched this trailer via the iTunes Movie Trailers app on Apple TV and was thoroughly impressed. Fantastic work. I look forward to supporting your film.

This looks great! Fantastic job!

Fuck. That was brilliant. That shit is too scary for me, but you touched all the right buttons, that's for sure!

As for the image, it looks terrific. RED footage is like anything else digital - if you know what you're doing, it looks great. I don't know why you'd choose another high end camera than the REDs.

Thanks dude. Great DP's help!

Excited to shoot the next one on Scarlet-W as well. We shot this one on Cookes, but will likely use Sigma Cine's next time (Since I just bought a set).
