I went to see Toys Story 3 in 3D today and I really enjoyed it... I mean... well, I ONLY went to see it to make sure it was OK for my daughter... I mean... at my age I don't really watch that sort of movies... I mean, c'mon...

I'm not a fan of 3D in every single film and I think it suit some types of movies better than other. Animated movies like this one is a genre that really benefits from this technology IMO. So well, that at some point I had to remove my glasses to make sure it really was in 3D. It's that unobtrusive and it really gives a nice depth to the movie. It feels really natural.

IMO, the 3D in Avatar was nice, but even thought I was *in* the story, I kept looking at the 3D effect and admiring how cool they were. But never in Toys Story, not because the story was better, but because it really was a part of the movie. That's the best I can put it tonight.

I just saw it today at an AMC theater in VA and..... the 3D **SUCKED** When I put on the glasses, the movie looked the same, all messed up! They were using flimsy plastic polarizer style glasses.

What kind of glasses did your theater use?

Great movie, terrible 3D experience, at least at AMC.

Sorry you had a bad experience, this sure wasn't our case. The projection was using the RealD and it was with polarizer style glasses.

i saw it in real 3d ..not imax

i loved the 3d it was very suttle i took my glasses off a few times and was reminded how flat the 2d looks

nothing popped out it was just depth between characters, background, etc

i really enjoyed it the 3d was great

Hehe, reading this thread's title I was exspecting someone to ask "Was it shot on RED??" :)

Many of the 3D theaters in Northern VA are bad except for the newest ones which can be hit or miss. The one at Fairfax Corner is the only one I've found to be consistently good.
