The film I have been doing as a side project for 6 years has been chosen as an official selection to The Toronto International Film Festival.
Of course I'd love to know if anyone is going to be there with another film that we can hang at each other's after parties, but as well would love advice on the festival itself, it's all bit overwhelming at the moment trying to figure out the best places for people to stay, and how it all works, any advice would be amazing!

There will also be a surprise performance involved after the screening!

Here is the info on our screening of "The Terry Kath Experience" World Premiere at TIFF on sept 15th at the Winter Garden Theater:

Congrats Jordan!

I too have a film doing the festival rejection rounds and its super cool to be accepted. There may have been 10,000 entires and they saw yours. Was this independently funded or via a funding body?
Go nuts and have a great time.
My film was accepted and won a couple of awards in India but I was not really able to justify going over there for that one. If it gets into one of the bigger profile festivals it would be cool to make a trip of it and take it all in. For a guy like me, that kind of thing is a big deal and you may as well live it up while you have that chance.

Goodluck and I hope you win!

Thanks guys!
i can finally relax now that i did a test screening in a real theater at CAA yesterday, phew.
Lee, the film was entirely funded by fans, mostly through kick starter by the director and one of the subjects in the film.
Now that we are in TIFF, we get daily emails from festivals from around the world asking us to submit and even saying, our submission is over but we will extend it to you, so i guess after this its all about where we want to vacation, haha. yes, very excited.

Andreas, that is great, how long will you be there as most docs, like ours is in the second week. let's try to hook up!

Dude, that's AWESOME. Big congratulations.

Get into festivals is a crap shoot, but when you're accepted to something like Toronto, you can be sure you have an awesome film.

Wow. Toronto. That's a tremendous accomplishment. Congrats.

Thanks tom and hugh!
things just keep getting better from just getting into the festival, we now have great sales reps, pr agency and an after party being thrown for us, pretty excited, especially now we went through the finishing process of the film with final sound mixes and graphic, created our dcp files and send out the drives!
we have been making the film for so long i cant believe that part is over!
