Hello,

I would be interested about your support on R3D files. Any news? I'm based in Lausanne and initially planned to do a colorgrading in Paris on a Scratch DI system. Now if there would be any solution with native R3D in Genève... I would be really interested.

I have footage I could share.

Hope to hear from you.

Matrix will support R3D files as soon as Red releases the SDK. As you may know, Red has an exclusive contract with Assimilate and Apple that ends this summer.

Adding R3D support will take us like a week, so be sure that when it's available, Matrix will have it as well.

Meanwhile facilities have to go through RedCine or another tool to export DPX or TIFF files. Stick around and you will get the news for the R3D support when it's planned available

Hello Patrick,

We already did a workflow from RED -> FCP (EDL) -> REDCine -> MATRIX System to conform and color grade.
Once you have converted from R3D to DPX or CIN files, MATRIX can import (soft import) and do the DI process in realtime.

Anyone here at this forum can contact dirctly to me cause I was the 1st user in HKG to grade the R3D files > DPX on the Martix Systems in 2K real time playback on HP 8600 Quard-Core sytems 2.83 ( 8GB Ram ) running on 32 bit Window XP professional + FX5600+SDI dual link Graphic card to connect to our 46" Professional LCD monitor @HKFilamrt 2008 from March 17-20th at HKCEC - Wanchai.

I am now testing Scratch 's Pre-Post full SW options ( Not Scratch - Cine only do primary color grading ) with our CP-200 ( a set of four control panels ) with our up - coming 16TB Fast Raid 5 storage more than 800MB per second.

To: Mr. Jim Jannard / Grame / Stuart @RED

Dear guys,

I really hope RED will release the REDCODE SDK to other DI players so all of us will have more options.
