I would like to make a quick announcement that only one Reducation workshop remains for 2010. http://www.reducation.net

DECEMBER 7-11, LOS ANGELES Reducation Workshop
DECEMBER 12, LOS ANGELES - "SHOOTING 3D WITH RED TECHNOLOGY" -

As many of you might know, Ted is currently on his Asia Red Epic tour. Luckily for us loyal Red fans in Vietnam, Ted and the rest the of crew brought the very first Red Epic over. Right before Ted left to Japan, we managed to squeeze in a video interview covering the "Top Ten" Red Epic Questions.

The EPIC is absolutely.. mindblowing. Although it may be difficult to really tell from the onboard lcd, the iso looked amazingly clean up to 6000.

Here are the two videos split up in to part 1 & part 2. Hope you enjoy them! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Thanks!!!

Tonaci, thank you so much for that wonderful interview; you too Ted! All I can say is Wow! The Epic continues to amaze me at what it can do. Seeing Ted control the focus AND iris on the Canon lens from the touch screen was very exciting, looking forward to doing that with my Nikons.

Great presentation guys!

Great interview! If you take a quick glance the Epic looks like a DSLR sitting on the table.

Thanks Tonaci! Good questions, good interview.

Nice interview Tonaci, thanks for sharing

Ted is a true gent and I highly recommend REDucation to anyone wanting to master the Red One on set and in post. I attended the August class and it was worth every penny!

All the best,

Correct me if I'm wrong but it looks like we can only run a RED LCD or a RED EVF, but not both, off the brain.

Perhaps it was just wishful thinking but I had imagined there would be two 14 pin Lemo taps with independently configurable display parameters. For example the operator could tailor the RED EVF display by toggling off all status info they didn't want and the 1st could customize the LCD screen to select 1:1 image magnification (perhaps even with the focus assist color edge), plus histogram, battery level, etc.

Is the RedMote capable of being the 1st's monitor? I didn't think it would have enough resolution for pulling focus, am I missing something. Perhaps the 1st would have both a RedMote and an SDI fed hi-res LCD?

Just curious. Perhaps this could have been question #11...

Cheers - #19

PS: Thanx Ted & Tonaci.

Presumably a module can/will be made with extra LCD and EVF outputs.

Unless I've missed updated news, the RedMote is not capable of displaying a video image at all. Just menus and a histogram.
