I wonder are the flares different?

Ian,

I'm not sure. I think the new spacing between the lens elements may have some effect on how the lens Flares.

Hey Rand, this is very interesting about the optical alignment. From the tests I have seen there is a notable swirl-type distortion up to about t2.8 ish, then it becomes less obvious. There is a slightly lower contrast, and from the limited info I have seen a similar flare to the originals. I guess the question is - is there a different coating, apart from the swirl-type distortion, is there another notable image differences.

When they had the vista ones there was a distinctive look difference to the originals particularly with the flares.

It seems you can upgrade from the original to the vista p which is cool, I am interested in this idea. I would like to see some more tests and know more about what the difference is.

If anyone has had a good play with the vista p's it would be great to hear your feedback.
