  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Tokina 11-16mm CA issue

Is it really excessive? You might have used a bad copy (or is it at the edges at 5k/6k... It is an APS-C lens after all).

As for a post fix, if it's really bad, would it be worth rendering out a TIFF sequence and using Camera Raw (or similar) to batch definge the entire shot(s)?... Actually After Effects might have a defringe effect or plug-in...

The 11-16 is a solid little photo lens but it's not perfect so there will be CA, but even worse, there will be copy variation. For what it's worth, I have a pretty bad copy that a friend gave to me that is almost unusable at times. But I'll still throw it on camera when I need to see the world.

Try using DragonColor1 instead of dragoncolor2

Good point. DragonColor2 super saturates the blue channel which increases the apparentness of any CA that may already be present.

Thanks guys, I have tried using DC1 and it does help but I was wondering if there was some sort of filter that could help reduce it. The worse thing is using it at 11 mm in the corners and even worse if there are trees in this corners, the CA is nuts in the leafs.
