Hi All,

I wanted to check in here before moving forward with a purchase. I tested the Tokina 11-16 on a Canon mount back some months ago and was blown away that it seemed to out perform almost every other lens I tested except for a Zeiss of a very different focal length.

My question is this. On the Nikon mount version , which is my preferred mount , is there any difference between the original version of the Tokina 11-16 and the newer version 2 or II of that lens with regard to use and function on the Scarlet camera .

Thanks in advance for any input on this.

I do not have the new lens, but in theory if red does program there stuff to work with it, there will be meta data. Lots of the Nikkors I use provide meta data, they are all pretty old though, mostly Nikkors

My primary concern is whether the newer version has changes that alter the way it functions on Scarlet. Something I read said the focus is different somehow.

new version only affects Canon, remains the same for Nikon, same exact lens as before.

Better do some research I believe the Tokina 11-16mm has infinity problems with the REDs as well.

I have the Canon and I cant confirm that I have that issue since I havent really tested it hard yet.

I had heard that at some point. I think it has something to do with the auto-focus and not having a hard stop at infinity. When I tested out a Canon version months ago I didn't notice it. Then again most of what I shot in the test was closer than 15- 20 feet
