Got a scarlet-w a little bit ago. When you magnify toggle to 1:1 on the 4.7 inch monitor, is it possible to slide the image to focus on a different point then where the center is? Seems like a pretty standard feature. I assumed it was touch control, but it is not.

For example, I'm locked off for an interview. Subject is ready. I toggle to triple check focus, and it's on their shoulder or chin. I want to see their eyes. Is is possible to slide the magnified image, or do I physically have to move the camera to do that?

Should be a tool to move that around

I'm sorry Matt, what do you mean? The image is magnified 1:1 - I'm trying to slide around that magnified image to find the best point of focus. Currently it seems locked where the center point is.

So you can enable look around (which disables some higher speed frame rates at various resolutions), or you can have AF confirm enabled, which puts a little white box at the center of your image. You can then click and drag that to where you want your focus to be, then click your 1:1 punch in, and it goes right to that point. Makes it really easy.

Chris you are the man! Thanks buddy. I got the AF confirm to work. I guess I'll stick in that mode. I did not find 'look around'. What is that?

EDIT: Nevermind - a colleague went over look around with me. I'll stick to confirm. Thanks again chris.

The look around setting is not applicable. 1:1 magnify will center (if possible) on the current AF point. Once in magnify mode you cannot move around, you will need to exit out, move the AF window, and re-enter.

Makes sense now. Appreciate the help everyone!

Trent, is this something that could be done in the future? e.g. press the arrow keys and have it shift to the next area? Obviously it would not be smooth, but would be faster than going back to full frame, moving and then going back to 1:1. e.g. If I am in 1:1 and press the right arrow and it flickers and moves to the next quadrant or some pre-defined distance. of course, if the 1:1 is really centered around the little box vs. being some number of hard coded segments, then that probably does not work. :)

If that is not possible, maybe another mode that is not focus confirmation where you can move the 1:1 region with the arrow keys and then magnify.

Basically, I love being able to move the 1:1 region around. It has really allowed me to nail focus a number of times. Just wish there was a way to move it while in 1:1 mode.
