Just wondering if anyone has had experience with the Toland and/or pCAM mobile apps for cinematography? Would love to hear some feedback. Thanks much!

I have pCAM and it's pretty good, 4 out of 5 stars.

Never tried Toland - I'll take a look though - I use pCAM when I'm shooting / operating alone, but when I have my fave 1st A.C. along; he just does it in his head...

I have both and like pack better. I find the Toland interface confusing and pCqm has more options. This app saved me on many occasions.

Really love pCAM. http://www.davideubank.com/Good_Focus/pCAM_Film+Digital_Calculator.html

You can even calculate underwater DoF, it has all sorts of conversions, time lapse calculator, HMI flicker free... All kinds of essential stuff. It pretty much eliminated by giant book of logs and stuffed them into an iPhone. totally worth it imo.

Other good ones:

LVRUSA (Camera manuals, for essentially every camera out there)
Simply Angle (angles via iPhone)
EZ Level (obviously a level)
SunScout (more affordable sun locator)

MPC Data Calc (Calculate data)

best regards

JL

Joshua, you should check out "Sun Seeker" I like its augmented reality view better than Sun Scout. Cheap too!

Katabatic Digital's KataData is my go to data calculator

Please support Dave's PCAM. He has been working and pdating this program for over a decade. Even though I am in the ASC I feel that Pcam is the greatest. For so long Dave gave Pcam away for our really old pocket wizards (yes I am that old) and now that he has a great smart phone app I think he deserves our business. IMHO

Totally agree with Mr. Collister. I've used pCam way back when when it was on the Palm.

I love Toland's interface but it doesn't have support for 5k / Epic or Scarlet cameras. Even worse, you can't plug in sensor/image size like you can with pCam. Plus pCam has way more features. WAY MORE.

David Eubank and pCam all the way. Seriously.

Oh, and Sun Seeker is amazing as well.
